Twin Disc’s industrial Power Take Off product line has a new addition that is ideal for severe applications. The HP500 is a heavy-duty, hydraulically actuated PTO, with an impressive power rating of 500 HP at 1,800 RPM. The HP500 is serious in its power delivery and is perfectly suited to driving pumps, grinders, crushers, dredgers, chippers, shredders and heavy duty drilling.
Unique in its design, the HP500 allows either side-load “P” or in-line “I” applications with the same output group, with an advanced control system allowing for continues smooth engagement.
A key feature to this new design is the auxiliary pump drive towers with 400 hp maximum capacity per tower, or 450 hp for both, and able to rotate 0, 45 and 90 degrees, clockwise or counter-clockwise to allow for clearance in any installation. Optional speed increase ratios of 0.77:1 and 0.83:1 are available along with the standard 1:1, offered in both single and dual auxiliary pump tower.
Pads and splines are easily interchangeable to accommodate varying pump sizes, SAE A to SAE E are available.
A hydraulically spring applied brake has also now been added as a standard feature, with the HP500 available in multiple SAE housing sizes, including, SAE #1 (SAE J617), SAE#2, or SAE#3 input housings and SAE 355 (14”), SAE 290 (11.5”), and SAE 255 (10”) input couplings.
The technology behind the HP500 unit lends itself effortlessly to the heavy duty crusher market. The unit covers a large power range for a wide selection of crusher models, such as, Jaw Crushers, Impact Crushers, Cone Crushers and Mineral/Roll Sizers; along with wet clutch technology which allows for smoother start-up’s and operation – not typically seen with dry clutch alternatives.
The HP500 is a new addition to the Twin Disc family of high power clutches, which includes the HP800 and HP1200 units. The product set now satisfies users in the 500-1200HP range of industrial crusher; along with other heavy duty industrial applications, and are quickly outperforming existing units already available within the industry.
MIT will be displaying the HP500, along with the latest driveline and power transmission technology at Hillhead, 26-28th June, Buxton.
