Transfluid Hybrid Drive module receives DNV GL Type Approval.

We are delighted to announce that as of June 2019 the Transfluid hybrid/electric drive module is the first of its technology operating within the 100kW power range to be accredited with DNV type approval in the UK.

Engineered and manufactured to excellence, modules HM560, HTM700, HM2000, HM3350 and HM6300 have been accepted for installation on all marine vessels classed by DNV GL, the world’s largest classification society.Transfluid Hybrid Drive

As the marine industry sees a shift towards more environmentally friendly drive solutions, the Transfluid system has gained type approval onboard vessels operating at up to 1100kW maximum power. The newly granted type approval ensures industry compliance along with cementing the engineering brilliance of the Transfluid hybrid technology.

This greener alternative to traditional diesel power is not only independently accredited but is an excellent cost-effective and viable solution suitable for both commercial and leisure marine markets.

With this shift in the market, the UK marine industry has seen, this year, leading architects, builders and operators adopting this innovative technology and for the first time, we have seen the first commercial hybrid pilot vessel and hybrid patrol boat enter service on UK waters.

Transfluid will continue to work on full DNV approval for their complete integrated hybrid drive system, which will include motors, electric controls and batteries.
