SOCSEA 2024: Pioneering a Sustainable Blue Economy

We are proud to announce our sponsorship of the ‘Green Waves’ stage at the Society & The Sea (SOCSEA) International Conference, set to take place on the 9th and 10th of September 2024. This prestigious event will feature a dual-themed ‘green and blue’ workstream, focusing on the strategies required to develop a sustainable blue economy.

The ‘Green Waves’ conference stage will center on energy transition and sustainability within the maritime and coastal sectors. Attendees will gain insights into the latest innovations, trends, and case studies, enhancing their understanding of how to navigate the energy transition effectively.

The SOCSEA International Conference aims to elevate businesses’ knowledge and boost personal networks by bringing together leading experts and practitioners from around the globe. Key discussions will focus on net-zero progress, biodiversity crisis solutions, and adapting to evolving global regulations. Special guests will include experts in alternative marine fuels, vessel decarbonisation, and new technology pathways.

A highlight of the event will be the SOCSEA24 Grand Maritime Ball on the evening of the 9th of September 2024. Hosted on the beautifully designed Woods Fleet, Silver Sturgeon, on the River Thames at Greenwich pier, this charity ball will support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s 200th anniversary. The evening will feature entertainment and a silent auction, with funds raised going towards this noble cause.

Conference attendees will enjoy refreshments upon arrival, break refreshments with tea and coffee, and a delicious, sustainably sourced lunch as part of their ticket.

While we will not be in attendance, we are proud to support the ‘Green Waves’ stage and contribute to the important discussions and outcomes that will shape a sustainable blue economy. Join us at SOCSEA 2024 to engage in deep-dive sessions, hear from industry leaders, and contribute to the new SOCSEA Charter 2024. Together, we can strive towards a fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable blue economy.
