Benefits
A perfect application
A self-drive day boat is a perfect example of where electric propulsion shines. The ease of operation, manoeuvrability and quiet operation make it an ideal solution for those who want a fantastic trip down the river without the worry difficulty or safety.
Eco-friendly
As well as using less harmful fuels, electric propulsion also helps protect the environment by reducing emissions, sound and odour pollution.
Safety and Savings
Maintenance is greatly minimised, and the frequency of repairs are reduced due fewer moving parts and the simplicity of electric design. Operation safety is greatly improved by the removal of flammable fuels and oils as well as low 48V options.
I have a diesel engine can I just add an electric motor to make my vessel hybrid?
You will need an electric motor, controller, and battery pack with additional ancillary products in order to make your vessel hybrid. There is no one size fits all solution, so we work with you and our suppliers to build a package that is suitable for your vessels specifications and performance requirements.
What if my vessel does not have the space or weight allowance to have the necessary batteries onboard for the speed and power requirements?
It is possible to use a low emission genset as a range extender with the electric propulsion system. This would become a series hybrid setup where the genset charges the batteries when needed and the batteries power the motor. You can significantly increase the range of the vessel whilst maintaining low noise and emissions.
Have I got to pay for the whole package in one lump sum?
We offer a leasing option for the batteries for your electric propulsion system to save you money, however, you will need to pay for all the other components of the system at the point of invoicing.
What warranty is there on the electric motors and battery packs?
The typical warranty period is 24 months, however, this can vary depending on the manufacturer.
