Benefits
A Perfect Application
With cruise or ferry trips, electric propulsion is ideal. As the service schedule is known, it is very easy to design a system to perfectly meet the requirements of the vessel. Speed and range can be accurately predicted along with specific charging intervals.
Eco-friendly
As well as using less harmful fuels, electric propulsion also helps protect the environment by reducing emissions, sound and odour pollution.
Savings
Maintenance is greatly minimised, and the frequency of repairs are reduced due fewer moving parts and the simplicity of electric design. Operation safety is greatly improved by the removal of flammable fuels and oils as well as low 48V options.

FAQs
Will electric propulsion improve passenger experience?
As electric propulsion drives remove exhaust emissions and run significantly quieter than conventional combustion engines, passenger experience will improve greatly in both leisure and commercial applications.
Can the vessel be charged whilst loading/unloading passengers?
Any time the vessel is docked it can be easily plugged in to gain extra charge for the batteries. This can greatly improve the range giving total confidence to the operator if the service must be extended.
Has electric propulsion been used in passenger applications already?
There are many passenger applications that successfully use electric propulsion that has not returned to conventional drive due to the vast benefits it can bring. For a cruise or ferry operator, electric propulsion means, lower fuel and maintenance costs, futureproofing business and improving customer satisfaction.
What if my vessel does not have the space or weight allowance to have the necessary batteries onboard for the speed and power requirements?
It is possible to use a low emission genset as a range extender with the electric propulsion system. This would become a series hybrid setup where the genset charges the batteries when needed and the batteries power the motor. You can significantly increase the range of the vessel whilst maintaining low noise and emissions.
Workboats Aquaculture and Fishing vessesl
Operators of aquaculture and fishing vessels can benefit from our inboard electric motors, ranging from 2kW to 130kW, for cost-effective operations and reduced emissions in pristine environments. Additionally, our series and parallel hybrid solutions are ideal for long duty cycles.
Commercial Workboats
Commercial workboat operators can take advantage of our industry-leading parallel-hybrid solutions operating up to 1230kW, allowing users to operate under both diesel and fully electric power. Alternatively, we offer a range of fully electric or hybrid rudder propellers operating at power ranges up to 3MW
