Full service machine shop
At MIT, we have a dedicated Off Highway workshop where we can carry out driveshaft repair services for earthmoving machinery, including two full-sized 8×8 vehicle bays and a large overhead gantry. In addition, we have the machinery and capability to manufacture obsolete driveline components, saving you money whilst ensuring that they meet OEM tolerances.
Dyno testing as standard
To ensure high levels of quality assurance, all off-highway transmissions are rigorously tested on our dynamometer testing bench before leaving the workshop. This test applies a rotational force and additional external forces to the transmission to ensure it works correctly, meets the manufacturer’s OEM specifications, and is ready for installation without further adjustments.

FAQs
Check that all gear selector linkages are going into full detent positions, and make sure that you have electrical current to all solenoids and that the solenoids are engaging.
It is generally caused by overfilling the transmission; check the dipstick oil level and drain the transmission back to normal indicated levels.
Normally, it is caused by clutch plates and shaft sealing rings that can be worn out. It is advisable that the transmission be overhauled to prevent any further damage to other components.
It is normally caused by worn out / slipping clutch plates that cause the transmission to overheat. Again, it is a sign that the transmission needs to be overhauled before any further damage is caused.
Generally, you will notice that the machine is low on power or the engine rev’s up without any directional drive, and the transmission may also be overheating.
