MIT Group Achieves ISO 14001 Certification: A Triple Win for Excellence, Sustainability, and the Future

MIT Group, a leading name in the Marine, Off-Highway and Industrial sectors, has added another feather to its cap by achieving ISO 14001 certification. This accomplishment, in addition to their existing ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications, is a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence, sustainability, and occupational health and safety. Their dedication to building a sustainable business is the heart of this achievement.

ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Excellence:

ISO 14001 is a globally recognised standard for environmental management systems. This certification is awarded to organisations that meet strict criteria for minimising their environmental impact, ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations, and continuously improving their environmental performance.

MIT Group’s decision to pursue ISO 14001 certification is a proactive move in the right direction, demonstrating its commitment to creating a sustainable business model. Sustainability is not just a buzzword; it’s ingrained in their core values and offerings, as they push the boundaries to ensure their companies remain at the forefront of customer value, technical expertise, service, and profitability while integrating sustainability.

A Triple Win:

MIT Group’s trifecta of ISO certifications (9001, 45001, and now 14001) is a powerful statement of their commitment to excellence, sustainability, and the future. Here’s how these certifications benefit the company and its stakeholders:

  1. ISO 9001 – Quality Management: Ensures MIT Group consistently delivers high-quality products and services to its customers, increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  2. ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety: Prioritises the well-being of employees and partners, creating a safe and healthy work environment and reducing workplace accidents and incidents.
  3. ISO 14001 – Environmental Responsibility: Demonstrates MIT Group’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact, conserving resources, and contributing to a sustainable future while staying true to its vision of building a sustainable business.

Peter Fenton, Finance Director, shared his thoughts on this remarkable achievement:

It has been our desire for some years to be able to achieve accreditation to the Integrated Systems trio of standards. With the introduction of Maria Aldred as Sustainability Manager in 2021, we now had the resource and skillset to allow us to press forward with both ISO45001 and ISO14001. I am absolutely delighted that through the hard work of everyone in MIT, we were able to achieve ISO45001 in 2022 and ISO 14001 in 2023, both at the first attempt. This is a fantastic accolade for the company and something we are all keen to build upon over the coming years.

Peter Fenton’s words encapsulate the dedication and teamwork that made this achievement possible and emphasise MIT Group’s commitment to a sustainable future.

MIT Group’s ISO 14001 certification is noteworthy, highlighting its commitment to environmental responsibility, sustainability, and building a sustainable business. With ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and now ISO 14001, the company has demonstrated its dedication to quality, safety, and sustainability, ensuring a promising future for its business and the industry. Their commitment to integrating sustainability into their core values and offerings sets them apart as an industry leader, poised to shape a sustainable future.
