Project Overview:
Supplied by MIT and built by Arklow Marine Services, the new replacement ferry for the Antrim.
Rathlin island service features Twin Disc Marine Gears, along with the Twin Disc EC300 electronic controls installed on the bridge. The Spirit of Rathlin has been built with improved power, space and also has dual classification, so can also operate as a workboat vessel unlike her predecessor. Designed by Argyll Maritime Services, working in close cooperation with the UK Maritime & Coastguard agency (MCA) and class society, Lloyds register.
Twin Disc were chosen for the project due to past performance and reliability.
