ABOUT QUINCY COMPRESSOR
Quincy, established in 1920 are manufacturers of high quality air compressors, which are used on all applications that require reliable air assistance.
A leading design and manufacturer of reciprocating and rotary screw air compressors, ranging from one-third to 350 horsepower, vacuum pumps and a full line of air treatment components, offering:
- Both single and multi-stage models
- Lightweight, low-footprint portable units
- Pumps for the natural gas market
Experts in their field Quincy have have been involved in air technology and product design and manufacture for over 90 years, servicing a variety of markets, such as:
- Industrial Manufacturing
- Energy Exploration
The Qunicy company philosophy is based on Total Customer Value, which enables them to be respond quickly to customer requirements, a value shared with MIT and one that has aided the relationship between both organisations.
MIT represent Quincy in the UK and are proud of this strong relationship, tailoring our customer needs with Quincy solutions for a variety of applications.
Reciprocating Air Compressors
MIT offer a range of the Quincy air compressors, with access to the complete range should a customer requirement occur.
A reciprocating air compressor is a positive displacement compressor that uses a crankshaft-driven piston and cylinder to compress the air. A single-stage reciprocating piston compressor works by drawing the air into the cylinder where it is compressed in a single piston stroke of approximately 120 PSI and then sent to a storage tank. A two-stage compressor includes an additional step where the air is compressed by a second, smaller piston to a pressure of up to 175 PSI.
Suppliers of heavy industrial compressors which are pressure lubricated in critical areas, they run at slower speeds and feature a cast iron construction for longer life and less downtime. MIT also offer standard duty compressors which consume less energy in the production process, saving energy and reducing the cost to users and organisations.
Rotary Screw Compressors
Rotary Screw Compressors available from MIT are in the form of belt drive, direct drive and gear drive. The range goes on to produce variable speed compressors and gas compressors.
A rotary screw air compressor is a positive displacement compression system that includes a pair of matching helical screws. An oil-flooded rotary screw compressor includes a lubricant that fills the gap between the rotors, which creates an air-tight hydraulic seal and transfers mechanical energy between the two rotors. The air moves through the threads as the screws rotate, and the meshing screws force the air through the compressor.
The maintenance costs on Quincy equipment are the lowest in the industry. Their equipment comes with 5 year and 10 year warranty programs as standard, which are all explained at the time of purchase.
