Wesmar

American manufacturer of ships stabiliser systems, bow and stern thrusters, Wesmar appointed M.I.T. as their UK distributors 5 years ago. Wesmar have a wide range of products to suit craft from 30 to 200 feet. The stabiliser range is electro-hydraulically driven and the thrusters, whether it be stern, bow or both, can be either electrically or hydraulically driven. As part of the hydraulic system design other hydraulically operated machinery can be integrated into the same circuit.
M.I.T. have the capability to offer a complete custom designed package to suit individual requirements, whether it be for production boats, retro-fit or specialist one-off’s. The Wesmar product has been installed by most of the USA and European leading boat manufacturers and has proven itself to be a reliable product, with ease of installation.

Twin Disc

For 87 years Twin Disc has been developing, engineering, manufacturing and distributing power transmission products that make things work. They are seldom seen, but they go into machines that contribute to the standard of our lives.

Twin Disc products are installed in the drivelines and powertrains of farm tractors, road pavers, cranes, mining trucks, oil rigs, logging equipment, firefighting and rescue vehicles, pleasure craft, fishing and work boats, pumps, turbines - you name it. They manage and control the horsepower generated by internal combustion engines and electric motors. They help feed us, provide natural resources, build our cities and homes, transport us, defend us and influence our lives daily in many unnoticed but critical ways.

Where there's an industrial strength vehicle or machine that requires converting horsepower to productivity, Twin Disc has a way to do it. So, in a very real sense, Twin Disc has helped put the world to work, for nearly a century.

Transfluid

M.I.T. have been distributors for Transfluid fluid couplings and power take offs for 10 years. M.I.T have supplied Transfluid products to a wide variety of re-cycling type machinery i.e concrete crushers, tree shredders and car fragmenters, as well as several marine applications, including ferry boat and river cruisers. Any application that requires either a soft start, or is a high shock load application, or whether a PTO needs to be operated remotely, or you need to combine mechanical drive with hydraulic pump drives, then Transfluid will have a unit to suit.
With a range of units from 50bhp to 2000bhp in standard format, other sizes can also be manufactured to suit. Our applications team will ensure that you specify and install the correct option for your specific application.
Our service and spares departments have considerable stocks to ensure that either you can source the correct part or be assured that our service team will install the correct parts during the repair or re-conditioning process.

Arneson

Arneson Surface Drives have been supplied into many applications for over 10 years by Marine & Industrial Transmissions. As a wholly owned subsidary of Twin Disc the Arneson propulsion division can take advantage of the larger design, engineering and manufacturing expertise of its parent company. M.I.T. have supplied drive systems boats as small as 20' and as large as 108' into both the commercial workboat markets and the pleasure boat industry. From its Queenborough headquarters MIT can offer application and design assistance, sales of new units spares and service.

British Marine

M.I.T. are proud to be a member company of the British Marine Federation. M.I.T. have representation on the MEEMA and training commitees within the BMF.

Mekanord

Marine & Industrial Transmissions are the UK distributors for the Mekanord range of Controllable Pitch Propulsion Systems.
Manufactured in Denmark, the Mekanord range of Marine Gearboxes starts at 300hp and goes beyond 10000hp. As a family business, started over 20 years ago, Mekanord pride themselves in being able to offer a ‘Taylor made’ Controllable Pitch Propulsion System. The system will typically include marine gear, electronic controls, shafting and variable pitch propellers. With a variety of reduction ratios, the marine gears from Mekanord are extremely versatile. With the addition of option power take off points, the application list is endless. Mainly used in the commercial workboat market place, with applications such as fishing boats, trawlers, tugs, workboats, ferries and support vessels, they are also seen on large yachts where the propellor can be fully feathered to reduce drag when under sail. With it's integrated hydraulic servo system for pitch control, it's compact design, deep ratio options, PTO options and a variety of output options (including co-axial, down angle and even twin input and single output), this again proves the versatility of the Mekanord range.
Marine and Industrial Transmissions welcomes the opportunity to present new challenges to the Mekanord design office. The addition of Mekanord to the M.I.T. portfolio of products means that they can now offer solutions to applications from conventional drive lines through to surface drive applications, water jets and now controllable pitch propulsion systems.

Quincy Air Compressors

M.I.T. have for several years been the UK distributor for Quincy Air Compressors, selling new machines, spare parts, workshop and field service. Established in 1920 Quincy are now part of the BF Goodrich company and have focused on the design and manufacture of reciprocating and screw compressors, intergrated components and vacuum pumps. M.I.T. and Quincy can offer a range of standard units or systems custom built to individual requirements.

Marine and Industrial Transmissions

Operating for over 30 years from two depots, M.I.T have built up two large facilities stocking components for Twin Disc marine gears, industrial products, electronic controls, Arneson Surface Drives, Transfluid power take off's and fluid couplings,and Quincy Air Compressors, in addition to spares and units for many other leading transmission manufacturers; these include ZF, Clark, Allison etc. Our service departments have an amassed experience in both workshop and worldwide field service envied by others. Whatever the application, whatever the product, an M.I.T engineer is likely to have both knowledge of the product and to have attended the relevant training course; in addition, our stores are likley to have the components to allow you or us to expediate repairs.
